.reasonable IVF.

hey ladies.
i'm not quite ready for IVF, but i have a cousin and a friend who have both used a dr in american fork (dr. richard and dr. marrs) and have both had IVF there. it is almost half the price of the u or rcc. dr. marrs was trained by the guy who made the 2nd ever "test tube baby" so they are reputable. i know their IVF success rates are astronomical and they usually do your inital consultation free. has anyone had experience with these two.?? i'm NOT a fan of my new RE and i'm in the market for a new one.

I had NO idea there were any other options for IVF in Utah other than RCC or the U. I'd also be interested in knowing if anyone else has used them.

Ash- if you know anything else about them (prices, success rates, if your friend and cousin were pleased with them or not)could you email me and let me know? I haven't had much luck finding any info on them online. Do you know if they have a website? Thanks!

I'd love info too. While I have liked our doctor and the U staff, it's still really expensive. If our IVF doesn't pan out, I might be looking for a cheaper second go-round.

Our RE is actually based in Boise, ID but will come down to American Fork occasionally for certain appointments. She also has a Nurse Practitioner who does everything else when she's in Boise. They in are in constant communication and take good care of their patients. We like both of them quite a bit but don't know the prices of others. So I wouldn't know how they compare.

But if you want any more information or anything, shoot me an email infertilitywondergirl@gmail.com.
Their success rates are higher than most other places in the area and like I said before, they are just great.

Never did IVF, but it was Dr Richards office that did the SA stuff for our IUIs. Never met him personally, but had his brother as my regular OB/GYN and he said that his brother was very socially backwards. However, it was Dr. David Richards office that was the first in Utah that switched from transferring 3 embryos to 2 because of technology that they created and/or perfected.

If you want to contact his office, his name is Dr. David Richards,
1184 E 80 N, Ste A
American Fork, UT 84003-2909

(801) 756-4313

Good luck everyone!

This is just my opinion, but I met with this scientist, Dr. Richards, and though his prices were a bit cheaper, I just didn't feel comfortable with the guy. He gave me the creeps, big time. I just couldn't picture the whole process with him. It seemed disorganized and I was so confused about what he could do as a Phd vs. an MD. And if you need to do ICSI, he doesn't have the equipment, so you have to go to CA to do it in Dr. Marrs office. We contemplated going to LA to do it all, but figured it would not be cheaper in the end and would just be a bigger hassle. Again, this is just my opinion.
