Reproductive Care Center............

Nick and I have made an appointment for August 26 to have a consult with an RE. Im excited, but not really. More scared than anything. We wont be starting this month however. I have been putting together a fund raiser for my cousins little boy for Sept. 6, and i don't want to have to take all that medicine and hormones and have the stress of the benefit as well, so we'll wait until September. I guess in a way, a little procrastination as talked about in the previous post? I think a little!! As for now, we haven't made a decision about putting our adoption papers in yet!! Hope everyone is doing well.

I am so excited for you guys. It is easy for me to say when on the outside. I know how hard this must be for you to make this decision but I am happy for you and your hubby and the possibilities this option brings.

It is scary to tink of the what ifs. You just can't let yourself go there. You just have to know you are doing all you can on your end and the rest is up to the Lord. Even though ours did not work I still feel I am doing all I can. That is all the Lord asks of us. I know in my heart he will bless us for our sacrifice.

Make sure you look into the shared risk. Really that is a guarentee of a pregnancy. Good luck and let us know how it all goes. I am here to support you in any way I can. Having just done this I know exactley what you will be going through. You will find you are stronger than you thought!!

Good luck with your fund raiser, what a neat thing you are doing!

Love Kim

Thank you both for the well wishes!! YIKES!!

Um stef, im dong a fundraiser for my cousins little boy who at 2 months was diagnosed with a liver disease called bilary atresia. He was born without a gall bladder and so he didn't have any bile ducts, it was all staying in his body and making him turn orange and bloat. He had a "Kasai" on August 27,07 which is a temporary band aid. He is showing the early signs of liver failure so i have been putting together this fundraiser so they can start testing livers in the family, so on and so forth. He is now 15 months and 17lbs. Isn't that crazy. My 5 month old niece is 13 lbs. Its been quite the battle for this little family, he's sure a strong little guy though!! Thanks for asking! How are you??

Sherydon,

The fundraiser sounds like a wonderful idea. Good luck with everything - I hope it goes well.

Glad to hear that you're visiting an RE! Honestly, it's the fastest way to get the ball rolling. They have the skill and expertise to evaluate each case separately and plan the best treatment options for you and your Hubby. They don't drag their feet.

I agree with Kim - If you plan to go the IVF route, check out the shared risk option. If you're planning to spend the cash, it would be grand to have a guarantee!
